Role Overview

Our client in the Automotive Industry is seeking a Temporary Supplier Readiness Engineer to ensure seamless supplier readiness for vehicle production. The role involves managing critical part development, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage local development of critical parts at suppliers.
  • Ensure supplier readiness for corporate milestones (PEP) and vehicle builds.
  • Oversee on-time submission of sample parts with full legal and technical documentation.
  • Conduct early planning and frequent supplier site visits.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and toolmakers to:
    • Agree on project timelines.
    • Set secondary project milestones.
    • Provide consulting on tooling, facility design, and manufacturing processes.
    • Minimize troubleshooting before and after Start of Production.

Additional Tasks

  • Ensure suppliers meet Group’s timing, quality, and capacity requirements.
  • Validate functionality of supplier tooling and equipment.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication:
    • Internally across Group departments.
    • Directly with suppliers.

Qualification Requirements

  • Technical Degree/Diploma in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechatronics
    • Polymer Engineering

Experience Needed

  • Minimum 5 years in:
    • Plastics or injection moulding technologies.
    • Manufacturing processes for critical parts.
    • Tool manufacturing/design.
    • Project management.

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Technical expertise and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • High computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Customer interface and conflict resolution skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven.

Added Advantage

  • Qualified Toolmaker certification.
  • Experience in:
    • Pilot Hall operations.
    • Supplier quality assurance.
