Purpose of the Job
The Parts Administrator at Value Logistics is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring timely picking and issuing of parts, and maintaining accurate stock records. This includes updating backorders, liaising with suppliers, and conducting stock counts to identify slow-moving or obsolete stock. The role ensures the workshop has necessary parts for scheduled maintenance while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and adhering to company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Operational

  • Pick and issue parts as per job cards.
  • Update the backorder report and forward it to the Parts Manager.
  • Record and report daily stock-outs for timely replenishment.
  • Ensure pre-booked parts are picked before scheduled workshop maintenance.
  • Raise purchase orders for non-stock items or buy-outs as required.
  • Follow up with suppliers on deliveries and collections.
  • Ensure no delays in issuing parts to the workshop upon stock receipt.
  • Conduct accurate stock counts during cycle counts and stock takes.
  • Monitor parts movement and ensure stock transfers are tracked.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and report to the Parts Manager.
  • Track credit returns and ensure processing.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned within the Parts Department.

Housekeeping

  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Follow Value Logistics housekeeping procedures.

Health and Safety

  • Adhere to Value Logistics health and safety policies at all times.

General

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Work independently and use initiative to complete tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 2-5 years of parts administration experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to embrace experience and adapt to new challenges.
