Job Description

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geospatial Administrator to join our Enterprise Capabilities group. This role will support internal and external clients across our Environment, Transportation, and Water Business lines in the Americas, while assisting the Technology Services Group in managing specialized GIS hosting environments. The successful candidate will contribute to a diverse range of projects, including municipal infrastructure, asset management, environmental permitting, construction, energy development, water resources, and transportation systems. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will develop, deploy, and support critical GIS solutions using AGOL/Portal, mobile, and web applications to ensure project success.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days per week in-office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather and review technical requirements to ensure data collection, development standards, and quality assurance procedures are met.
  • Design, deploy, and manage geospatial applications for AGOL/Portal, including ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Workforce, Dashboards, StoryMaps, AppStudio, and Power Automate Reporting.
  • Maintain applications using ArcGIS Server 10.x, Portal 10.x, and ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
  • Develop and optimize mobile and web applications using JavaScript, JavaScript API 3.x/4.x, HTML5, JSON/GeoJSON, and Google Maps API.
  • Automate workflows using Python, Model Builder, Microsoft Power Automate, and similar scripting tools.
  • Manage and deploy SDE geospatial databases on SQL Server.
  • Ensure quality assurance for spatial and non-spatial data.
  • Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies and best practices.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize processes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Enterprise GIS, web systems development, programming, or administration.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online (AGOL)/Portal administration.
  • Expertise in GIS web service creation and web app deployment.
  • SQL Server proficiency (queries, views, stored procedures, triggers).
  • Hands-on experience with Field Maps, Survey123, Workforce, Dashboards, and Power Automate Reporting.
  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Development experience with JavaScript, HTML5, JSON/GeoJSON, and Google Maps API.
  • Programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of webhooks and automation tools.
  • Experience with SSRS, Crystal Reports, or Power BI for reporting.
  • Asset Management System experience (desirable).
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
