As a Senior Software Developer – Team Lead, you will build high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications while developing capability in others to do the same. Your role will involve applying critical thinking, design thinking, and problem-solving skills in an agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions (Front End, Back End, and Integration). You’ll lead all phases of the development lifecycle, ensuring excellence in execution.
Job Description
The Investment Banking Technology (IB Tech) team is seeking an experienced and passionate Software Developer – Team Lead to manage the Operations Integration development team. This team is part of the IB Tech Operations cluster, supporting Markets & Treasury Post Trade Services and Investment Banking Compliance business areas.
The team develops and maintains bespoke systems for processes like electronic trade confirmation, trade matching, allocation, exchange control vetting, reporting, accounting integration, and provides second-line support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of developers responsible for building and maintaining critical banking systems.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, ownership, and respect while driving high performance.
- Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and career development support to team members.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality applications using C#, .NET, AWS, and other modern technologies.
- Oversee code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, architects, and risk partners to define requirements and timelines.
- Manage second-line support, troubleshoot issues, and perform corrective maintenance.
- Maintain and improve documentation and knowledge bases.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Education:
- Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant AWS certifications (advantageous).
Required Experience/Skills:
- 8+ years of software development experience with strong C# and .NET proficiency.
- 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
- Strong grasp of software development principles, tools, and techniques.
- Experience with modern software practices (DevOps, CI/CD, Containers, IaC, Cloud).
- Hands-on experience with AWS, automated testing, and agile methodologies.
Advantageous Experience/Skills:
- Knowledge of React, Angular, Kafka, Hadoop.
- Experience in Corporate & Investment Banking or post-trade services.
