Job Purpose
Accountable for the overall delivery of Pensions and Employee Benefits strategy, policy, and related practices for Pick n Pay. This includes strategy formulation, tactical design, implementation, and governance to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies
- 8–10 years of experience in driving benefits strategy and execution across diverse organizational levels

- Strategic Thinking: Strong capability to design and implement long-term benefits strategies
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions

- Negotiation Skills: Successfully engage with vendors and consultants
- Ethics and Integrity: Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement benefits strategies that align with company goals and industry best practices
- Ensure compliance with regulations, governance, and legal requirements in all benefits programs
- Engage in external forums to stay updated on industry trends and professional developments
- Advise leadership on regulatory changes and manage their impact
- Collaborate with the Reward and Benefits Lead to implement benefit programs for all employee levels
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance benefits and recognition initiatives
- Provide expert guidance on benefits methodologies, programs, and processes
- Identify and evaluate industry trends to drive strategic benefits solutions
- Design and source innovative benefits packages to attract and retain talent
- Continuously assess and improve existing benefits offerings
- Support payroll, rewards execution, and annual share allocation processes
- Foster employee wellbeing initiatives within the Reward team
- Maintain accurate and detailed records for all benefits programs
- Lead, coach, and develop the Benefits team to ensure exceptional service delivery
