Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing team operations, and ensuring effective business planning. Your role will involve setting and achieving sales targets, coaching team members, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Planning
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager to contribute insights to monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans.
- Set and support sales targets for the team, aligned with the Branch, Area, and Provincial objectives.
- Sales Management
- Oversee the achievement of sales targets to drive client growth and profitability.
- Plan and manage the activities of Financial Advisors to meet sales objectives.
- Enhance team operational effectiveness by reducing NTUs (Not Taken Up premiums), addressing issues, and improving client retention.
- People Management
- Partner with Human Capital and Talent Acquisition to ensure the team has the necessary skills and resources to meet sales goals.
- Provide coaching, training, and career development opportunities for team members.
- Monthly Planning and Reporting
- Monitor daily and weekly activities, adjusting tactics as needed to meet sales targets.
- Prepare monthly sales and team activity reports, analyze data for improvement, and plan accordingly.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Address and resolve escalated client queries efficiently, ensuring timely feedback.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support sales efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 2 years of sales experience, with a minimum of 1 year in the financial services industry (Cat B1/Cat B2/Retail Pensions).
- Minimum of 1 year of management experience.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Knowledge of Sanlam insurance products is an advantage.
- A degree or diploma with 5 years of related sales experience.
