Role Overview
As a Financial Planner, you will deliver professional and tailored financial advice, planning, and product solutions to both new and existing clients. Your role will involve generating high-quality, sustainable business in line with set targets, and maintaining long-term client relationships to build brand loyalty and drive ongoing sales. This role requires adherence to compliance and ethical standards to support and enhance the Sanlam Group business and brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Growth and Development
- Commit to marketing plans and targets set by the distribution strategy.
- Utilize market segmentation and customer profiles to support sales and business growth.
- Achieve revenue targets, activity quotas, and promote the Sanlam brand while treating customers fairly.
- Align the role with your personal career aspirations.
- Networking and Lead Generation
- Engage in face-to-face interactions to create business opportunities.
- Prospect new clients through creative methods, including business networks and presentations.
- Strengthen existing relationships and identify opportunities within the Sanlam businesses.
- Use social media and existing client base to generate leads and sales opportunities.
- Structure and implement targeted campaigns and request ongoing referrals.
- Client Consultations and Sales
- Ensure compliance with disclosures and advice provided.
- Conduct comprehensive fact-finding and financial needs analysis to create balanced portfolios.
- Present financial solutions professionally and in line with Treating Customers Fairly principles.
- Use relevant tools to capture and update client information, and review client portfolios annually.
- Client Service
- Maintain ethical, courteous, and professional client interactions.
- Resolve queries through back-office support and strive for excellent, value-added service.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with market trends and provide exceptional service.
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Document and present activities, including contacts, appointments, consultations, and issued business.
- Update client records and monitor workflow and activity systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- FAIS “Fit and Proper” requirements and successful completion of Regulatory Examination if registered with FSCA for over 24 months.
Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in financial advice, planning, and support.
- Achievement of production targets and budgeting.
- Compliance, risk management, and client relationship management.
- Strong financial planning and recommendation skills.
