Tiger Brands Vacancies – Enterprise Development Specialist
The Enterprise Development Specialist will be responsible for implementing the Preferential Procurement Set-aside and Entrepreneurship Development programs within the company’s Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) strategy. This role plays a key part in positioning Tiger Brands as a leader in supporting black-owned businesses, farmers, and distribution enterprises in South Africa’s food and beverage sector.
Key Responsibilitieskdh
- Support the ongoing development and execution of the company’s ESD strategy.
- Manage and implement ESD-related initiatives and activities.
- Coordinate assessments, quarterly reporting, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) for ESD projects.
- Facilitate the development of business cases to secure funding for black-owned enterprises.
- Oversee the Market Access Accelerator program, working with procurement teams and aggregators to unlock procurement opportunities for black-owned businesses.
- Lead the Smallholder Farmer Support program, collaborating with procurement teams to drive grain and produce sourcing from black farmers while ensuring access to funding and technical support.
- Manage the Channel Development Program, supporting black distributors and traders by facilitating product pricing and rebate opportunities.
- Implement site-specific entrepreneurship programs in partnership with site management.
- Oversee the Community Enterprise Development (CED) initiatives by securing funding and unlocking procurement opportunities for community-based businesses.
- Coordinate the ESD verification process, including data collection and liaising with BEE verification agencies.
- Drive public relations efforts for ESD initiatives in collaboration with corporate communications.
- Prepare reports for executive committees and the Social, Ethics, and Transformation Committee.
- Act as the primary liaison for ESD service providers and strategic partners.
Performance Metrics
- Effective execution of the approved ESD strategy.
- Growth in procurement spend with black-owned suppliers and farmers.
- Revenue growth for black enterprises and suppliers.
- Improved ESD scorecard performance, contributing to an enhanced BEE rating.
- Successful public relations campaigns showcasing ESD initiatives.
- Job creation through enterprise development efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 2–5 years of experience in enterprise development, supplier development, or small business development.
- Strong project management skills.
- Passion for small business development.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of ESD trends and compliance requirements.
