About the Program:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a dedicated Cosmetic Frontshop Assistant for their Culemborg store in the Western Cape. The role focuses on maintaining merchandising standards while supporting customer service at the point of sale in line with Dis-Chem policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• 0-6 months retail experience
• Minimum 1 year experience in retail cosmetics
• Certification in Retail or related field
• Computer literate – MS Office

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure full product ranges are on shelves and neatly presented
• Maintain stock to prevent expired or sell-by-date items
• Restock merchandise to maximise sales
• Accurately manage cash flow and transactions
• Ensure all line voids and price changes are approved by a supervisor
• Process returns and exchanges as authorized
• Receive and process all payments, including cash, cards, vouchers, and coupons
• Store and organise delivered stock efficiently
• Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous customer assistance
• Follow up on out-of-stock queries with customer service
• Adhere to cash handling, security, and verification procedures
• Scan and account for all outgoing stock
• Comply with Dis-Chem policies, SOPs, and health and safety regulations

Competencies:

Essential:

• Proficient in MS Office
• Customer-focused with strong attention to detail
• Strong English communication skills (spoken, read, and written)
• Knowledge of merchandising standards, FMCG, and planograms
• Understanding of sales targets, promotions, personal selling, and product knowledge
• Basic arithmetic skills
• Emotional intelligence, accountability, and problem-solving
• Trustworthy, honest, and good time management

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of a third language
