Job Overview
The Associate HR Director, Africa is a dynamic and proactive leader responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives across the region. This strategic role ensures the seamless integration of global HR initiatives with local business needs, driving efficiency, transformation, and best-in-class HR services.

As a trusted advisor to leadership, you will enhance organizational performance, foster employee wellbeing, and implement data-driven HR solutions. Success hinges on strong project management, collaboration, and the ability to navigate a complex, matrixed global environment with agility and strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with business leaders to execute HR strategies that align with regional and global business priorities.
  • Provide expert guidance on people-related decisions, performance management, team development, and organizational change.
  • Leverage HR analytics and advanced Excel skills to deliver insights that support business decisions.
  • Offer hands-on support for talent management, workforce planning, and leadership coaching.

HR Efficiency & Policy Alignment

  • Lead HR transformation initiatives to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency across Africa.
  • Ensure HR policies, systems, and practices comply with local labor laws and business needs.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to implement innovative HR solutions.

Regional Wellbeing & Engagement

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive Wellbeing Plan, addressing physical, emotional, financial, and workplace health.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, leveraging feedback to refine programs and foster a high-performance culture.

Performance & Leadership Development

  • Advise leaders on performance management, career pathing, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Support change management initiatives, ensuring a smooth transition for teams and stakeholders.

Compliance & ER Expertise

  • Ensure adherence to local labor laws, including EE and BBBEE requirements.
  • Resolve complex employee relations matters with a balanced, compliance-driven approach.

Project Management & Analytics

  • Lead HR projects with precision, delivering measurable results on time.
  • Track HR KPIs to identify trends and implement data-driven improvements.

Qualifications & Skills
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • HR certifications (SHRM, CIPD) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in HR, with experience in strategic HRBP or generalist roles.
  • Strong knowledge of African labor laws, EE, BBBEE, and ER compliance.
  • Experience in HR transformation, change management, and process improvement.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and HR analytics proficiency.
