Clearing Controller (Senior)
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the movement of import cargo through the international transport chain in line with client requirements.
- Apply INCOTERMS knowledge to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Manage commercial, transport, carrier & depot, and statutory documentation and stamps.
- Oversee various seafreight shipment types and handle insurance/claims processes.
- Interpret rate structures, national currencies, and international codes accurately.
- Ensure full compliance with RCG (Reporting of Conveyances and Goods) regulations.
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy and financial understanding.
- Conduct situation analysis, problem-solving, and make client-focused decisions.
Requirements:
- Matric with a 2-year freight forwarding qualification (NQF level 4 or 5, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of recent import controlling experience in the clearing and forwarding industry.
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Team player with strong time management skills.
