About the Program

Value Logistics ensures operational efficiency and seamless stock flow by optimising back door and distribution centre processes, reducing delays, and supporting strong retailer relationships.

Purpose of the Job

The Back Door Specialist is responsible for visiting assigned stores and distribution centres to ensure smooth operations, resolve issues, and maintain effective collaboration between back doors and Value Logistics operations. The role focuses on improving turnaround times, managing stock processing, and enhancing overall back door efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with back doors, stores, and distribution centres
• Conduct monthly visits to each assigned back door to monitor operations
• Provide support to address and resolve operational issues with back door teams and Value operations

Operational Oversight

• Understand back door processes, from receipt to dispatch and returns, ensuring compliance and smooth stock flow
• Maintain and update back door and distribution centre requirements monthly
• Drive timely completion of required actions and resolutions
• Monitor, improve, and optimise turnaround times at back doors
• Manage smooth processing of bookings and escalate potential delays in vehicle offloading
• Implement technology and process integrations to enhance efficiency
• Minimise returns by ensuring adherence to operational procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management beneficial
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Retail and Distribution Centre back door audits and problem-solving delayed offloading
• Own transport
