Kaelo is expanding its Group Risk solutions, presenting a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Group Life New Business Consultant to drive high-quality business growth while shaping innovative risk products.
Job Description
Deliver exceptional new business performance by strategically acquiring and managing high-value Group Life and Group Risk clients. Lead sales initiatives, foster broker relationships, and contribute to product development to ensure long-term client retention and market competitiveness.
Key Outcomes
- Grow strategic new business accounts and broker relationships
- Build and maintain long-term, high-value client portfolios
- Provide consultative sales support for Group Life and Group Risk solutions
- Contribute to product innovation with technical insights and market intelligence
- Drive revenue growth through proactive prospecting and solution selling
- Optimize new business processes for efficiency and impact
- Lead sales campaigns and analyze competitor strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Ensure seamless client onboarding and handover to operational teams
- Deliver product and market training to internal teams and brokers
Special Requirements
- Minimum 5 years as a Senior Business or Sales Consultant in Group Life/Group Risk
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets
- Ability to advise on product structures, underwriting, and benefit design
- Strategic sales planning and campaign execution experience
Work Experience Required
- Deep Group Life and Group Risk industry expertise
- Top sales performer in a new business environment
- Strong broker/intermediary relationship management
- Sales campaign and prospecting strategy experience
- Involvement in product development or process improvement
- Short-Term Insurance and health insurance knowledge
Qualifications
Required:
- FAIS compliance
- Grade 12/Matric
- NQF Level 5 in Wealth Management or Long-Term Insurance
- Completed RE exams
Preferred:
- Business Degree (BCom, BBusSci, or similar)
- Short-Term Insurance and medical scheme experience
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Advanced Microsoft Office and CRM proficiency
- Expertise in underwriting and insurance product structures
- Financial planning and employee benefits knowledge
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Risk assessment and business analysis capabilities
- Compliance with Long-Term Insurance regulations
