Frontline Consultant – Value Logistics
Purpose of the Job
The Frontline Consultant at Value Logistics is responsible for delivering a professional and welcoming front-of-house experience. This role involves efficiently answering incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate person or department, and managing visitor interactions with warmth and efficiency. Additionally, the consultant ensures accurate branch contact lists, handles messages with care, and provides general administrative support to maintain smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
- Efficiently and professionally answer incoming calls.
- Actively engage with callers, listen attentively, and gather necessary information to resolve requests.
- Take detailed and accurate messages when the required contact person is unavailable.
- Greet and welcome visitors, ensuring they sign in and are directed to the correct person or department.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company structures, functions, contacts, and front desk procedures.
- Exceed customer expectations by meeting quality measures and satisfaction standards.
- Ensure all calls are transferred or directed correctly.
- Work in an organized and orderly manner.
- Update visitor spreadsheets and cleaner registers daily with complete, accurate, and detailed notes.
- Communicate Global Contact List changes to IT for updates.
- Keep branch contact lists current.
- Read and respond to email communications as required.
- Avoid negligence, non-conformance, call avoidance, or fraudulent activity.
- Maintain up-to-date administrative duties and proper filing.
- Build strong relationships with internal departments.
- Stay informed about Value Logistics’ products, policies, and procedures to provide accurate customer information.
- Maintain professional conduct and adhere to the company dress code.
- Uphold daily housekeeping and health & safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in a customer service frontline role.
- Fluency in English, Afrikaans, and a Vernacular language (beneficial).
- No sanctions, clean credit record, and no criminal record.
- Proven track record of excellent customer service (compliments and feedback beneficial).
Skills Required
- Strong verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
- Fluency in business English.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, typing, navigation).
- Strong administrative skills.
- Ability to handle difficult or irate callers.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
