Fleet Controller at Value Logistics (Elandsfontein, Gauteng)
Purpose of the Job
To oversee and maintain the entire fleet, ensuring efficient management of vehicle services and related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and manage fleet servicing information.
- Track and analyze refueling and fuel consumption for Gauteng-based vehicles.
- Consolidate and assess national fleet fuel consumption data.
- Engage with drivers to improve fuel efficiency.
- Forecast and execute servicing and refueling plans.
- Manage vehicle Work In Progress (WIP) reports.
- Assist the National Fleet Supervisor with daily fleet planning.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Monitor overall fleet condition and maintenance.
- Ensure monthly panic button tests are performed.
- Review and log vehicle checklists daily.
- Update vehicle mileage records daily.
- Manage Certificate of Fitness (COF) renewals, ensuring completion 30 days before expiry.
- Oversee tail lift load tests and services, ensuring timely completion.
- Coordinate truck washing as per schedule.
- Compile detailed job card cost analysis.
- Report and investigate accidents.
- Research, report, and analyze traffic fines.
- Use Value route planning software to optimize delivery routes for efficiency.
- Consider delivery schedules, vehicle capacity, and customer locations for route planning.
- Maximize transportation efficiency while minimizing costs.
- Monitor order status and address delivery issues with supervisors.
- Ensure daily submission of vehicle trip sheets to supervisors and customers.
- Prepare and submit planning statistics to management.
- Maintain and update driver information.
- Monitor vehicle tracking systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.

- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Numerical proficiency.
