Purpose of the Job
The Site Supervisor at Value Logistics is responsible for overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient delivery services. This role involves managing driver activities, fleet readiness, route planning, and compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Monitor driver attendance and absenteeism to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Coordinate driver requirements with the Labour Broker and Regional Manager.
- Track and verify drivers’ working hours for accurate weekly wage reporting.
- Oversee fuel management, including refueling, consumption tracking, and reconciliation.
- Ensure fleet condition aligns with SEC Manual standards.
- Manage route planning, vehicle loading/offloading, and driver dispatching.
- Enforce procedures for accident claims, product claims, and vehicle breakdowns.
- Communicate operational updates with the Account Manager regularly.
- Review trip sheets and verify against vehicle tracking reports.
- Supervise pre- and post-trip inspections, logbooks, and Certificate of Fitness (COF) checks.
- Handle ad hoc vehicle maintenance and documentation (PDPs, licenses, medical certificates).
- Monitor PPE and uniform distribution for on-site staff.
- Ensure functional vehicle tracking systems and schedule repairs when necessary.
- Maintain site cleanliness and safety.
- Conduct monthly panic button tests and tyre surveys.
- Confirm load security and compliance before dispatch.
- Secure all vehicle keys at the end of each shift.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare and submit reports, including:
- Vehicle Utilisation Report
- Absenteeism Report
- Workshop Vehicles Report
- Fleet Checklist
- Weekly Site Report
- Fuel Consumption Report
- Daily Statistics Report
- Fleet Control Report
- Supervise customer documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Maintain strong customer relationships by meeting service level agreements.
- Monitor and report on KPIs, operational performance, and challenges.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Fleet and route management (local geographical knowledge required).
