Purpose of the Job
The Forecourt Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing sales within petrol station forecourts and related convenience outlets. The role requires a strong understanding of forecourt operations, effective relationship management, and the ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with frequent stock turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow accounts within the forecourt and convenience retail segment, focusing on beverage and snack categories.
- Manage private label products and ensure proper execution.
- Provide high-frequency service to maintain product availability and merchandising standards.
- Build strong relationships with site managers and forecourt staff.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment to prevent out-of-stock situations.
- Manage promotional activations, including handling the Promotions Catalogue and executing sales according to promotions received.
- Track SKU performance, particularly fast-moving items, and recommend assortment improvements.
- Provide insights into consumer buying behavior at forecourts.
- Execute visits according to route plans, prioritizing forecourts and adhering to NDD schedules.
- Assist with credit control and reconcile on-site transactions and payments.
- Compile and present activity reports specific to forecourt channel performance.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 5–10 years of related sales experience, including at least 3 years in Forecourt/Convenience Sales
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven sales track record over the past 12 months
