Responsibilities

Design and implement global technical platforms and supplier competitive tension tools to deliver competitive advantage and align with sector benchmarks.

Review and approve all Flexible Film RFPs and cover letters, leveraging category levers to achieve the lowest total cost to business (TCO).

Lead Value Engineering and productivity initiatives for South Africa, utilizing regional and global leverage to deliver P&L savings and minimum run rate productivity.

Establish and govern CVA/commodity splits and pricing mechanisms for all ingredient materials, ensuring effective risk management.

Provide technical leadership to the South African supplier base, driving performance improvement in line with commercial and financial priorities.

Support legal teams in contract preparation, negotiation, and ensuring optimal contract terms.

Manage timelines for transformational projects and act as gatekeeper for all critical purchasing tasks to ensure on-time plan execution.

Identify and implement productivity projects in collaboration with sector Procurement and XFP teams.
Supplier Management

Select suppliers in line with purchasing strategy and participate in evaluation and negotiation processes.

Develop sourcing plans, manage value engineering and productivity projects, and lead new supplier development.

Maintain SQA and sustainability standards while managing supplier relationships through quarterly scorecard reviews.

Lead dispute resolution related to material supply, quality, invoicing, or payment issues.

Drive supplier diversity programs, including strategy development, roadshows, and due diligence for sustainable supply solutions.

Roll out commodity risk management buy plans and playbooks across the ingredients portfolio where applicable.
Qualifications
-
13+ years of strategic sourcing experience in Flexible Packaging with a global organization, including multi-geography supply bases and multi-site stakeholders.

At least 6 years in a senior management role with spend accountability of $50M or more.

Proven capability in BCP development for Flexible Film and establishing alternates and substitutes.

Subject matter expertise in film structures (PP, PE, PET, OPP; microns, gsm) with a minimum of 3 years of benchmarking experience.

In-depth understanding of upstream film sourcing models, conversion, and printing technologies.

Demonstrated track record of delivering 5% annual productivity in the Flexible Film category and managing pipeline value exceeding $10M annually.

Hands-on experience with sourcing models and cost optimization levers specific to Flexible Film.

Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage ambiguity, and influence stakeholders.

Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.

Proficient in English, highly computer literate, and familiar with MS Office, ERP systems (Oracle, SAP), and e-procurement tools.

Self-starter with the ability to execute end-to-end category sourcing strategies and adapt in a dynamic business environment.
