Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Hydro-Mechanical Engineer – Water to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee mechanical systems for water conveyance, including dam equipment, gates, control valves, screens, and hoists.
- Lead the engineering of bulk fluid conveyance systems, including pipelines, valve chambers, surge mitigation, distribution networks, pump stations, and water treatment plants.
- Apply deep knowledge of fluid conveyance components, their functionality, and limitations to optimize design solutions.
- Coordinate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, instrumentation, civil, structural) to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Prioritize constructability and safety in design, integrating best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engage confidently with stakeholders, facilitate technical discussions, and drive solutions while managing diverse perspectives.
- Deliver high-quality engineering outputs, including CAD reviews, calculations, and 3D design assessments, with a proven track record in fluid conveyance excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) from an accredited university (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8+ years of relevant experience in hydro-mechanical engineering for water infrastructure.
- Professional Engineer registration with ECSA.
