About the Job: Store Manager (External Applications Only)
Description:
Protect and grow profitable market share within a store in alignment with Cashbuild’s store, division, and company strategy.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with at least 3 years of retail management experience or 5 years of related retail management experience
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to work under pressure
- Computer literacy (basic proficiency)
- Leadership and administrative skills
- Own transport and valid driver’s license (preferable)
- Own cell phone
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations (OHSA or equivalent)
- Strong Human Resources Management skills
- Attention to detail
Key Performance Areas:
Strategic Management
- Develop, implement, and manage a strategic plan aligned with divisional and company objectives.
Grow and Protect Market Share
- Achieve sales targets and budget goals.
- Increase transactions and market share.
- Manage customer loyalty programs and third-party credit.
- Develop action plans to counter competitor activity.
- Implement and update store business plans.
Customer Service
- Execute and monitor customer service strategies.
- Maintain effective delivery services.
- Grow and retain VIC and charge card customers.
- Recommend range improvements based on market needs.
Asset Control
- Minimize shrinkage as per policy.
- Safeguard cash, stock, and fixed assets.
- Manage debtors.
- Assess and recommend security improvements.
- Ensure compliance with physical security measures.
Business Trade Licenses
- Ensure timely renewal of relevant trade licenses (where applicable).
Human Resource Management
- Align manpower with company strategy.
- Implement succession planning and career pathing.
- Foster open communication with staff and employee forums.
- Drive training and development initiatives.
- Manage employee relations.
Maintaining Store Standards
- Conduct daily floor walks.
- Implement and monitor performance improvement plans.
- Ensure compliance with company standards.
- Uphold housekeeping and merchandising policies.
- Maintain store lighting, racking, and readiness for business.
Stock Management
- Oversee stock ordering and receiving processes.
- Clear damaged stock as per policy.
- Address obsolete, slow-moving, and excess stock.
Store Safety (OHSA) Standards
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations.
- Complete required checklists.
- Appoint OHSA representatives.
- Investigate and report incidents.
Expense Management
- Control expenses within budget.
- Align store operations with financial models.
Insurance Claims Administration
- Report incidents to insurers and manage claims.
- Submit required documentation.
Management of CB Way
- Implement and maintain CB Way processes and controls.
