The Senior Consultant – Cloud Engineering is a highly experienced technical expert responsible for leading the design, architecture, and implementation of complex cloud solutions within the ICT Center of Excellence. This role provides technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction, ensuring solutions meet industry standards and business objectives.

While there are no direct reports, the role plays a crucial part in guiding projects from a specialist perspective, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful deployment of scalable and efficient cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

Strategic Input

  • Translate the ICT Center of Excellence strategy into technical deliverables.
  • Provide thought leadership in long-term cloud engineering vision, aligning with business goals.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop strategies leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies.
  • Ensure integration of cloud-based solutions with existing ICT infrastructure.
  • Align cloud engineering strategies with enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives.

Solutions Delivery

  • Lead the architecture and design of complex cloud-based solutions.
  • Oversee seamless integration of cloud platforms, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Implement robust, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight on cloud-related projects, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Conduct research on emerging cloud trends and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Develop functional knowledge across all domains, including IoT, Security, and UCC.

Client Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with enterprise clients to understand cloud infrastructure needs and provide expert advice.
  • Lead discussions with customers to develop tailored cloud solutions.

Governance, Policies, and Compliance

  • Develop policies and standard operating procedures for cloud engineering practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in governance forums and oversee risk mitigation strategies.
  • Implement cost controls and financial management processes for cloud initiatives.

Financial and Cost Control

  • Provide input into budgeting and financial planning for cloud projects.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure cost efficiency in cloud deployments.
  • Optimize vendor and partner relationships for cost-effective cloud solutions.

People and Culture Management

  • Mentor and coach peers and junior engineers in cloud technologies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Lead training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Drive high performance, accountability, and professional development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in ICT and cloud solutions planning and delivery.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles.
  • Strong background in cloud infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Experience in a multinational enterprise environment is an advantage.
  • Expertise in emerging cloud technologies and their application in business solutions.
