Cashier – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Description
The Cashier is responsible for the accurate processing of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and related documentation to ensure a positive customer experience. The role ensures that no goods pass through the POS without correct payment being received.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 or a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience

Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language
-
Ability to perform basic calculations accurately
-
Strong administrative skills
-
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
-
Ability to work under pressure
Key Performance Areas
Cash Handling
-
Ensure all allocated cash, including floats and petty cash, balances with no shortages or overages
-
Accurately identify and capture goods on the POS system
-
Capture the correct payment methods received from customers
-
Maintain sufficient change at all times
-
Perform pick-ups accurately and within prescribed parameters
-
Complete cash-ups accurately at the end of each shift
-
Ensure all daily takings are deposited into the drop safe or vault
-
Process all transactions related to other stores, deliveries, and quotations correctly
Administration

Complete, sign, and file all cashier-related documentation accurately and timeously
Ready for Business

Adhere to all Ready for Business and Beyond My Control standards in line with the CB Way
Customer Service

Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service when processing customer purchases

Direct customers to the appropriate staff member for further assistance

Comply with the company dress code at all times
Safety (OHSA) Requirements

Ensure compliance with safety standards to protect customers and colleagues

Report any safety concerns or discrepancies to the Store Manager
Security Awareness

Adhere to system password controls at the till point
