Store Manager – Cashbuild Vacancies

Job Description
Lead and manage store operations to protect and grow profitable market share. Ensure alignment with divisional and company strategies while delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards, and achieving financial and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with at least 3 years retail management experience, or 5 years related retail management experience
  • Strong business acumen and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong administrative and human resources management skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation (OHSA or relevant local legislation)
  • Own transport with a valid driver’s license preferred
  • Own cell phone
  • High attention to detail

Key Performance Areas

Strategic Management

  • Develop, implement, and manage store strategic plans aligned with divisional initiatives
  • Monitor performance against strategic goals and adjust plans as required

Grow and Protect Market Share

  • Achieve sales targets, grow transactions, and increase market share
  • Promote customer loyalty programs and third-party credit
  • Implement action plans to defend the market against competitors
  • Maintain and update store business plans

Customer Service

  • Implement and monitor the customer service strategy
  • Ensure effective delivery services and grow the VIC and charge card client base
  • Recommend product range improvements to meet market needs

Asset Control

  • Manage shrinkage and protect store assets (cash, stock, and fixed assets)
  • Oversee store debtors and security measures
  • Ensure physical security protocols are implemented and maintained

Business Trade Licenses

  • Ensure all relevant trade licenses are current and renewed on time

Human Resource Management

  • Manage staffing requirements according to company strategy
  • Implement succession planning and career development programs
  • Maintain communication with staff and employee forums
  • Oversee training, development, and employee relations

Maintaining Store Standards

  • Conduct daily floor walks and implement action plans where necessary
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, merchandising policies, and housekeeping
  • Maintain “Ready for Business” standards, store lighting, racking, and equipment

Stock Management

  • Ensure stock is ordered, received, and cleared according to policy
  • Manage damaged, slow-moving, obsolete, and excess stock as per policy

Store Safety (OHSA) Standards

  • Ensure compliance with local OHSA or relevant legislation
  • Complete required safety checklists and appoint OHSA representatives
  • Investigate, report, and manage OHSA incidents

Expense Management

  • Maintain store expenses within budget and financial model benchmarks

Insurance Claims Administration

  • Report incidents to insurers, liaise on claims, and submit all required documentation

Management of the CB Way

  • Implement and maintain controls and disciplines as per the CB Way
