About the Program
Rand Water is seeking a Protective Services Officer to safeguard employees, visitors, and assets while providing professional customer service.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate
• PSIRA Grade C certificate
• NKP Certificate (advantageous)
• SAPS-issued Firearms Competency Certificate for Handgun and Shotgun
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a security environment
• Valid Code B driver’s license with ability to pass Rand Water K53 test
• Computer literacy

Primary Duties

• Perform access and egress control duties
• Conduct patrols to ensure site safety
• Report security incidents and related occurrences
• Carry out security inspections
• Enforce established security procedures

Knowledge

• Patrolling and guarding techniques
• Access and egress control procedures
• Relevant security legislation
• Basic investigative procedures

Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Conflict handling and resolution
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Analytical and computer skills

Attitude

• Customer service oriented
• Self-disciplined and motivated
