Hello… an exciting new opportunity has just become available in our Insure, Broker Distribution team based in Bloemfontein. We are looking to recruit a skilled Underwriter.
Role Objectives:
- Underwrite in line with company underwriting guidelines.
- Provide First Call Resolution.
- Enhance Broker/Client Satisfaction through effective risk management of policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and standard operating procedures:
- Assess new business risk in accordance with business underwriting standards.
- Handle new business acceptance and declinature of risk.
- Provide technical underwriting expertise on referrals.
- Manage Reinsurance referrals and placements.
- Act within agreed mandates for discounts and risk acceptance.
- Process endorsements, renewals, multi-claimant cases, refunds, and daily queries.
- Take ownership of queries and provide timely feedback to clients and stakeholders.
- Follow company SOPs on risk management processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and necessary disclosures (TCF).
- Escalate deviations from SOP to the relevant manager.
- Issue correct policy documents to clients.
- Deliver reliable underwriting support and customer service to claims departments.
- Build and nurture relationships with brokers, BDCs, and stakeholders.
- Identify client concerns and propose medium- and long-term solutions.
- Suggest improvements to technical functionality to enhance service delivery and meet SLAs.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration within the team.
