Job Summary
Standard Bank is hiring a Lead for Hardware Asset Management to drive the strategic and operational direction of hardware assets across the enterprise. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and enforcing asset management policies that ensure hardware investments are optimized, risks are mitigated, and the overall value to the business is maximized. This position works closely with Group IT and senior leadership to align hardware asset practices with broader IT and business strategies.

Qualifications

  • First Degree in Business Commerce or Mathematical Sciences

  • 8–10 years of in-depth experience across the full Hardware Asset Management lifecycle

  • At least 8 years in IT Asset Management or Configuration Management with responsibility for managing CI data in a large-scale, distributed IT environment

  • Proven leadership in managing operational departments focused on IT asset baselining and maintenance

  • Strong background in information security risk management and financial modeling

  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale projects or programmes exceeding R50 million

  • Experience operating in complex, multi-vendor outsourced IT environments

  • Familiarity with Agile and Lean frameworks, tools, and practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce technology hardware asset management policies and procedures across the Group

  • Establish and maintain repeatable asset management processes to ensure compliance and maximize hardware lifecycle value

  • Provide leadership and direction to support business unit and Group IT strategies

  • Manage cost efficiency and information security risks related to hardware assets

  • Oversee the full delivery and operational availability of Hardware Asset Management services

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and senior leaders to influence key decisions and strategic initiatives

  • Drive alignment with global IT practices and compliance standards
