Hello… an exciting new opportunity is available at Hollard in our Insure, Broker Distribution, Bloemfontein branch. We are seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our team.
Role Objectives:
To underwrite in line with our underwriting guidelines, provide First Call Resolution, enhance Broker/Client Satisfaction, and contribute to cost savings through effective risk management of policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Assess new business risks in line with underwriting standards.
- Accept or decline new business risks based on risk assessment.
- Provide technical underwriting expertise on referral cases.
- Manage Re-Insurance referral placements.
- Operate within agreed mandates for discounts and risk acceptance.
- Process endorsements, renewals, multi-claimants, refunds, and daily queries.
- Take ownership of queries and provide timely feedback to clients and stakeholders.
- Follow company SOPs for all risk management processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including necessary disclosures (TCF).
- Escalate deviations from SOPs or queries to the relevant manager.
- Act within delegated authority for risk acceptance or rejection.
- Ensure accurate policy documents are issued to clients.
- Provide reliable underwriting support and customer service to claims departments.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, BDCs, and other stakeholders.
- Identify client issues and propose medium- to long-term solutions.
- Recommend process improvements for better technical functionality and SLA compliance.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration within the team.
