Pick n Pay Careers – Supply Chain Planner
Pick n Pay is looking for a Supply Chain Planner to ensure efficient stock flow through the value chain, optimizing sales growth, availability, waste reduction, working capital, and distribution costs. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to align strategies and translate them into accurate forecasts, sales plans, and vendor orders.
Minimum Requirements
- BCom in Logistics, Quantitative Analytics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering, or Applied Mathematics
- Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and Access is an advantage
- 2 years of experience in retail, supply chain, or planning, or at least 1 year of Pick n Pay-specific experience

Responsibilities
Sales Planning and Forecasting
- Develop weekly sales plans for assigned categories, considering promotions, seasonal trends, and external factors
- Utilize historical data and sales trends to identify growth opportunities
- Align category forecasts with overall business sales strategies
- Plan for promotional activities and new product launches
- Adjust forecasts based on store-specific trends, revamps, and new store openings
Operational Execution
- Ensure system forecasts align with category sales plans
- Set accurate replenishment parameters to optimize stock levels
- Monitor and adjust in-week sales forecasts to reflect demand
- Manage ordering processes, ensuring efficient distribution center stock levels
- Address and resolve availability, waste, and profitability issues
Performance Monitoring and Adjustments
- Track sales, waste, and availability KPIs to ensure accurate execution of sales plans
- Identify and address operational risks related to stock levels and forecasting
- Analyze returns and implement solutions to minimize waste and losses
- Provide input on promotional and pricing strategies to maximize category profitability
- Collaborate with vendors and logistics teams to drive efficiency in the supply chain
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with commercial teams to align sales forecasts with business strategies
- Communicate sales plans to divisional teams and ensure accurate volume planning
- Engage with vendors to improve supply chain efficiency and strike rate performance
- Collaborate with store execution teams to address specific store challenges
