Senior Specialist – Global Learning Innovation & Analytics, MTN Careers
Mission
The Senior Specialist – Global Learning Innovation & Analytics drives next-generation learning solutions across MTN, leveraging technology, data, and analytics to enhance workforce capability, business outcomes, and future skills readiness. This role ensures the design, deployment, and measurement of innovative digital learning programs that are scalable, inclusive, and aligned to MTN’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the global learning innovation strategy and roadmap, including AI-powered learning, gamification, microlearning, and VR/AR solutions.
- Champion adoption and optimization of digital learning platforms (LMS/LXP), ensuring personalization, scalability, and analytics-driven insights.
- Establish and manage learning analytics frameworks, dashboards, and ROI measures linking learning to business outcomes and talent development.
- Pilot and scale innovative learning solutions across MTN’s global operations.
- Provide input into strategic meetings, transformation initiatives, SLA and KPI evaluations, and change management proposals.
- Identify, document, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring alignment with budgets and functional strategy.
- Report on learning initiatives’ progress, performance, and ROI through periodic and ad hoc reporting.
Operational Delivery
- Learning Analytics & Data Management: Collect, analyze, and visualize learning data from LMS, LXP, and HRIS systems; create dashboards and scorecards to track learner engagement, capability development, and business impact.
- Learning Technology Administration: Oversee integration and operational management of learning systems, ensuring data integrity, end-user support, system upgrades, and platform optimization.
- Learning Innovation Support: Research, design, and implement cutting-edge learning methodologies; translate strategic business goals into learning programs; collaborate with HR, business leaders, and vendors to pilot and scale digital learning solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Advise Group and OpCo L&D leads on global learning trends, solutions, and analytics; partner with cross-functional teams to embed learning innovation into talent strategies.
- Ways of Working: Collaborate with Manco Business Talent, Global HR Strategy, and OpCo learning teams to source, validate, and standardize global learning data and analytics.
Education
- Minimum tertiary diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Learning Sciences, Data Analytics, Psychology, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification and relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPD, ATD, Learning Analytics Professional, People Analytics) are advantageous.
Experience
- 2–5 years in L&D, digital learning, talent management, or people analytics within global or multi-market organizations.
- Database management or data analyst experience preferred.
- Proven experience designing and scaling digital learning innovations in multinational organizations.
- Strong exposure to LMS/LXP platforms, learning analytics tools (Power BI), dashboards, ERP systems (Oracle preferred), and ROI measurement.
- Experience in consulting, telecoms, fintech, or digital platforms is advantageous.
- Familiarity with pan-African or multi-country learning environments is desirable.
Competencies & Skills
- Functional knowledge of global L&D operations, database management, learning systems, SCORM testing, reporting, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Fabrics Data Flows, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, MS Loop, and eLearning tools (Articulate Rise, 360, Adobe Captivate).
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Project management, data visualization, master data management, and process improvement skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, judgment, and customer service capabilities.
- Ability to work in complex, ambiguous, and multicultural environments.
