About the Program
FlySafair Careers is seeking a Product Owner (Onsite) to drive the delivery of digital product streams, translating vision into actionable work while ensuring alignment with business priorities and the product roadmap. This role combines strategic insight, Agile delivery, and cross-functional collaboration to maximise product value.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day delivery of specific digital product streams
- Own, refine, and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring user stories and designs are clear and actionable
- Support sprint execution by clarifying requirements and guiding the development team
- Translate Product Manager’s vision and roadmap into backlog items and actionable tasks
- Align features and releases with roadmap milestones
- Provide creative, out-of-the-box solutions to challenges
- Surface insights from team execution to inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to define and support customer journeys
- Validate product increments with users to ensure value delivery
- Track feature performance metrics and leverage data-driven insights for enhancement
- Monitor sprint-level KPIs such as velocity, story completion, and defect rates
- Conduct retrospectives with delivery teams to drive continuous improvement
- Document user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and create a knowledge base accessible across teams
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Coordinate release planning and communicate project status, timelines, and changes
- Identify blockers and work with teams to resolve them efficiently
- Streamline development processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce time-to-market
- Ensure cross-functional alignment and effective communication between business units
- Develop instructional materials, training guides, and support resources for product adoption
- Support smooth handover of new releases to business teams
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Essential)
- Scrum certification (Advantageous)
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner (Essential)
- Experience in software projects and digital solutions (Essential)
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and backlog management
- Strong understanding of user story mapping, UX principles, and acceptance criteria
- Practical knowledge of relevant product management tools
