Senior Clinical Research Associate – IQVIA, Cape Town

Job Overview
Join IQVIA as a Senior Clinical Research Associate in Cape Town to perform comprehensive monitoring and site management across diverse protocols, sites, and therapeutic areas.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct monitoring visits (site selection, initiation, monitoring, and close-out) in line with regulatory standards, including GCP and ICH guidelines.
  • Collaborate with sites to strategize and optimize patient recruitment for study success.
  • Deliver protocol and study training to sites, ensuring clear communication around expectations and issue resolution.
  • Assess site compliance with study protocols and regulations, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Track study progression, including regulatory approvals, enrollment rates, CRF completion, and data queries.
  • Maintain Trial Master File (TMF) and Investigator Site File (ISF) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Document and report monitoring findings, action plans, and follow-ups accurately.
  • Mentor junior CRAs through co-monitoring and training visits.
  • Support cross-functional study team collaboration for seamless project execution.
  • Contribute to site-specific recruitment plans (if applicable).
  • Manage site budgets and invoicing per clinical trial agreements (if applicable).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or healthcare field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of on-site monitoring experience in clinical research.
  • Equivalent education and experience considered.
  • Expertise in GCP/ICH guidelines and clinical research regulations.
  • Strong protocol and therapeutic area knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and mobile devices (laptop/iPad/iPhone).
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, clients, and sites.
