The Sales Supervisor plays a key role in driving store performance by maximizing sales and turnover, controlling stock losses, and ensuring that administrative standards are maintained. This role also focuses on effectively leading, motivating, and supporting the store team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve business goals.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, energetic, and passionate about retail performance. They should be resilient, able to think strategically, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Additional qualifications in retail, business, or a related field will be advantageous

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Senior Sales Assistant within the retail sector
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Strong logical thinking and analytical skills
  • High energy levels with a performance-driven mindset
  • Computer literacy and strong numeracy skills
  • Proven leadership and organizational abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage with customers effectively
  • Reliable attendance record and strong punctuality
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure brand standards are consistently implemented and maintained according to customer expectations
  • Coordinate daily customer service activities including sales processes, orders, and payments
  • Maintain high store standards and proactively take initiative when tasks need to be completed
  • Supervise, guide, and motivate staff to ensure daily sales targets are achieved
  • Coach and support both new and existing Sales Associates to improve performance
  • Manage the store operations in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Ensure all staff members comply with company policies and operational guidelines
  • Monitor and control stock losses to remain within company benchmarks
  • Maintain accurate and efficient administrative processes within the store
  • Stay updated on new stock arrivals and oversee the unpacking process
  • Handle store opening and closing procedures
  • Represent the store professionally and lead by example for the entire team
