Job Description
The Sales Coordinator is responsible for driving sales through continuous customer engagement, accurate costing of building plans, and issuing detailed quotations. The role ensures high standards of housekeeping and merchandising while managing a cost-effective and efficient delivery service.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 with at least 5 years relevant experience, or a minimum of 10 years related work experience

Ability to read building plans will be advantageous

Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language

Above-average numerical skills

Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service

Ability to work under pressure

Computer literate

Strong organising, planning, and delegation skills
Key Performance Areas
Sales
-
Prepare, issue, and follow up on quotations to generate sales

Manage quotation processes and control special orders
-
Interpret building plans and ensure accurate quotations within agreed timeframes

Manage inbound and outbound customer calls and ensure timely follow-ups

Conduct competitor analysis to maintain store competitiveness

Communicate bulk deposit transfers clearly to customers

Promote loyalty programmes including VIC and Charge Card offerings
Deliveries

Manage an efficient delivery service and ensure correct delivery rates are applied

Ensure deliveries are dispatched within required timeframes

Communicate delivery delays promptly and agree on alternative arrangements with customers
Customer Service

Manage the Customer Service Desk effectively

Record, track, and resolve customer complaints

Ensure consistent, efficient service to all customers

Maintain professional telephone etiquette and ensure calls are answered promptly
Store Standards

Manage Ready for Business checklists and processes within area of responsibility

Ensure advertised price changes are implemented accurately

Implement and maintain planograms in line with company standards
People Management

Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers are present and available to assist customers

Ensure trained backup staff are available at all times

Monitor and ensure completion of daily duties in line with Ready for Business and Beyond My Control standards
