Job Overview
Cashbuild Vacancies is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Perpetual Inventory Controller to ensure accurate stock management and inventory control within the store. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting daily cycle counts, reconciling stock discrepancies, reporting irregularities, and maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy in line with company procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with 1 year relevant experience, or 2 years related work experience
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language
- Computer literacy
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Key Performance Areas
Perpetual Inventory Counts
- Conduct daily stock counts according to the Perpetual Inventory Controller count cycle
- Verify physical stock against system stock on hand
- Investigate and reconcile all variances (positive and negative)
- Capture and report identified discrepancies
- Investigate and correct negative stock quantities with Store Manager approval
- Identify and report damaged stock
- Conduct mini stock-takes as required by management
- Assist with wall-to-wall stock-take preparations and highlight areas of concern
- Perform normal PIC counts during full stock-take periods
Reporting
- Report daily stock variances to the Store Manager and/or Divisional Manager
- Escalate unresolved irregularities to the Divisional Manager when necessary
- Report incorrect pricing, poor-quality pricing, and SKU discrepancies
- Highlight damaged stock and merchandising issues
- Monitor and report concerns in bulk stock areas requiring special attention
PIC Adjustments
- Ensure all stock adjustments are actioned accurately and approved by management
- Verify and file the End of Day Report against the previous day’s PIC Adjustment Sheet
- Report any outstanding adjustments before the end of the trading day
Filing and Administration
- Complete all required Perpetual Inventory Controller documentation accurately
- Ensure documents are signed, approved by the Store Manager, and filed daily
Ready for Business
- Adhere to Ready for Business standards and company operational procedures
Customer Service
- Maintain professional appearance in line with the company dress code
- Wear a visible name badge at all times
- Provide immediate assistance in resolving customer complaints
Safety and Compliance (OHSA)
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations within your area of responsibility
- Promote customer and staff safety at all times
- Report safety concerns or discrepancies to the Store Manager
- Use appropriate safety equipment and protective clothing
