Packaging Inventory Clerk – SAB Vacancies
SAB is looking for a Packaging Inventory Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for managing all raw material inventory within the logistics supply chain, ensuring compliance with product quality standards, and adhering to inventory governance processes and controls. The Packaging Inventory Clerk ensures all physical movements of inventory are accurately recorded in SAP, investigates inventory discrepancies, and reports accordingly.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory counts, including quantities per storage location and Best Before Dates (BBD) for each SKU, in line with VPO standards.
- Ensure inventory quality standards are met, including compliance with freshness and rotation policies.
- Block and unblock inventory in SAP with appropriate physical mechanisms for quality-related issues and obsolescence stock.
- Conduct independent inventory counts and reconcile with SAP records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Validate packaging receipts, and verify write-offs against signed-off documentation and gate sheets.
- Quality Control
- Manage RM Inventory according to VPO requirements, ensuring physical blocking mechanisms for quality-related and obsolete stock.
- Ensure proper handling of breakages, obsolescence, and salvage stock, processing them accurately in SAP.
- Implement and monitor good waste management practices, ensuring decanting of obsolescence stock follows standard policy.
- Compliance and Governance
- Ensure all documentation is signed-off, filed, and securely stored according to the Inventory Control Policy.
- Conduct 3-point independent checks on all shipments for departure and arrival.
- Implement good housekeeping practices, including 5S principles, risk assessments, and issuing of PTW.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols, including monitoring security cameras and conducting random verification checks.
- Administrative and Team Support
- Plan and manage daily workloads for the team, ensuring documentation control and weekly PRP compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to support team goals and VPO principles.
- Monitor Supply Chain Overheads Budget vs. Actual costs, reporting gaps and action plans as needed.
Profile Requirements
- National Diploma in Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, Logistics, or relevant studies.
- 2-3 years of experience in a stock control environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
- Licensed FLT (Forklift) driver.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a team player with good organizational and planning abilities.
- Capable of operating in a cross-functional and demanding environment.
- Good customer ethics and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to self-manage.
