Job Role:
The New Business Consultant is a dynamic, commercially savvy professional responsible for driving growth and partnerships across retail and fintech channels. This mid-level role suits a self-starter with experience selling digital value-added services into both formal and informal retail environments. You will identify and secure new opportunities within the digital channel, manage key accounts, and collaborate across teams to deliver solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities:

Prospecting and Lead Generation:

  • Identify and research potential clients within target markets.
  • Generate new leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and social platforms.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects with accurate CRM updates.

Client Engagement and Relationship Building:

  • Initiate contact with potential clients through calls, emails, and meetings.
  • Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct needs analysis to understand client challenges and business goals.

Sales Presentations and Demonstrations:

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and tailored proposals.
  • Clearly demonstrate the value of digital solutions and services.
  • Confidently handle objections and client queries to progress opportunities.

Negotiation and Closing:

  • Develop pricing and contract proposals aligned to company guidelines.
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial commercial terms.
  • Close deals and ensure agreements are signed within required timelines.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics.
  • Analyse market insights to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Share market feedback with marketing and product teams to refine offerings.

Sales Reporting and Documentation:

  • Track and report on sales activity, pipeline health, and performance.
  • Prepare regular forecasts and performance reports.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of all client interactions and deal progress.

Collaboration with Internal Teams:

  • Work closely with delivery and operations teams to ensure smooth handover from sales to implementation.
  • Communicate client requirements and expectations clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Align with marketing on campaigns, activations, and promotional initiatives.

Goal Setting and Achievement:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Review personal performance regularly and implement improvement plans.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales or business development.
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and generating new business.
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel when required.
  • Experience in the payments and retail industry will be advantageous.
