Role Purpose
The Investment Development Consultant builds and maintains strategic partnerships with independent financial advisers (IFAs) to promote Momentum’s investment solutions. This role drives business growth for IFAs while achieving Momentum Distribution Services (MDS) sales targets and expanding the Momentum footprint in the market.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3-year BCom degree in Business Management or Investments (essential)
- Honours degree (advantageous)
- CFA or CFP certification (advantageous)
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years in the financial services industry, with a focus on investments (essential)
- Prior experience with Momentum Investments (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of SA and international investment and wealth management markets (Fund Selection, DFM, Securities)
- Proven track record in client or IFA engagement within a practice management setting (advantageous)
- Technology-savvy with digital tools and platforms
Duties & Responsibilities
Connection and Engagement
- Engage IFAs in a structured and professional manner to build strong partnerships.
- Resolve barriers to collaboration and provide timely query resolution.
- Understand the IFA landscape, competitor environment, and market dynamics to tailor engagement strategies.
- Develop retention strategies to maintain and grow IFA business with Momentum.
Enthuse through Brand, SME Service & Digital
- Build lasting relationships with IFAs using brand value, service excellence, and digital solutions.
- Promote Momentum’s expertise in IFA offices to strengthen market presence.
- Guide IFAs from passive supporters to active brand ambassadors.
- Demonstrate best practices for working with Momentum.
Influence through Coaching and Learning
- Position Momentum as a thought leader by providing valuable insights and guidance.
- Conduct 1:1 coaching sessions and regular engagements with IFAs.
- Stay informed on regulatory impacts affecting IFA practices.
- Foster accountability, innovation, excellence, and integrity in all business interactions.
Enable through Partnership
- Support IFAs by leveraging financial planning expertise and Momentum’s solutions.
- Understand the strengths, risks, and opportunities within the IFA panel to inform strategic planning.
