Truworths Careers is seeking a detail-oriented GL Accountant (Fixed Assets) to manage and maintain the Group’s fixed asset activities. This role is ideal for a self-starter who works methodically, meets monthly deadlines, and thrives in a fast-paced finance environment.

Job Description
The GL Accountant (Fixed Assets) will be responsible for the day-to-day management of fixed assets across the Group, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance. The role supports month-end close, audit processes, statutory reporting, and capital expenditure tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain depreciation and tax asset registers across all countries
• Capture new capital expenditure items in the asset registers
• Liaise with Contracts departments regarding store capital expenditure
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of asset registers to the general ledger in local currency and ZAR
• Report on capital expenditure per project
• Assist with reviews of asset useful lives
• Support month-end close processes related to fixed assets
• Assist auditors with all asset-related queries
• Prepare fixed asset disclosures for Group AFS and statutory AFS
• Complete Stats SA and SARB statutory returns
• Capture and maintain banking details
• Process expense journals as required
• Process insurance invoices on iProc
• Support information requirements for annual insurance renewals

Qualifications and Experience

• BCom degree or equivalent qualification
• 2–3 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably including fixed assets
• Experience with Oracle Fixed Assets and General Ledger modules or similar systems is advantageous
