Financial Controller (Pastel Evolution & Micros) (CPT)

ENVIRONMENT:
Join a premier Tourism and Hospitality company specializing in luxury accommodation as their new Financial Controller. You will oversee accounting functions, monitor internal controls, manage banking and finance activities, ensure accurate reporting and tax compliance, procure insurance, and maintain corporate documentation.

DUTIES:

Operations:

  • Compile and capture revenue and month-end journals.
  • Manage daily banking and bank statement entries.
  • Reconcile credit card and cash transactions.
  • Capture and reconcile loan accounts.
  • Follow up on open accounts and ensure resolution.
  • Reconcile petty cash counts.
  • Oversee stock procedures and perform spot checks.
  • Identify slow-moving stock and recommend solutions.
  • Verify order book security and stock receiving compliance.
  • Monitor staff rent payments.
  • Prepare income statements and maintain fixed asset registers.
  • Manage Boatyard rent (Debtors and Creditors).
  • Close and audit house accounts.
  • Assist in financial pack compilation.

Administration:

  • Review and update pricing.
  • Upload function specifications as instructed.
  • Implement seasonal departmental changes (menus, drinks, bedding).
  • Track monetary vouchers.

Management:

  • Support all departments as needed.
  • Complete at least two duty shifts monthly.
  • Assist the Host Manager.
  • Enforce financial procedures across departments.
  • Generate daily revenue reports.

Human Resources:

  • Analyze staff leave records for compliance.
  • Ensure rosters adhere to labor laws.
  • Process staff deactivations via Final Payment Checklist (FPC).
  • Maintain completed Training Registers.
  • Enroll new staff on the Biometric Attendance Register.
  • Validate timekeeping and payroll accuracy.
  • Ensure operational efficiency of Technology Solutions.
  • Oversee project management and storeroom security.
  • Monitor company vehicle fuel levels.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12/Matric.
  • Relevant Financial tertiary qualification.

Experience/Skills:

  • 2+ years in Hospitality industry.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in Pastel Evolution, Micros, and Ideal Stock.
