Job Summary
As a Financial Adviser AIFA (FAIS) at Absa, you will execute the six steps of financial planning, delivering professional advice in Investments, Life Insurance, and Estate Planning. Your role includes conducting Financial Needs Analysis (FNA), presenting tailored recommendations, and implementing solutions through Absa’s approved products. Regular client reviews ensure suitability and identify evolving needs. Maintaining ongoing Fit and Proper status is essential to uphold Absa’s advice license standards.
Job Description
Establish and Maintain Professional Relationships
- Build and nurture relationships with clients, Bank personnel, product providers, and Adviser Support staff.
- Engage in lead generation activities and sales meetings to identify new and repeat business opportunities.
- Leverage Absa’s bancassurance structure to maximize client value.
- Conduct comprehensive Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) using Absa’s approved tools (Avalon from Aug 2024).
- Prepare and present tailored recommendations aligned with FAIS regulations.
- Implement client-accepted advice through Absa’s new business processes.
Meet Sales and Growth Targets
- Plan client outreach activities in collaboration with the Everyday Advice Executive.
- Utilize leads from Regional Managers and self-prospecting to identify financial needs.
- Obtain client consent to review existing policies for a holistic financial assessment.
- Recommend suitable solutions, generate formal proposals, and secure client acceptance.
- Submit compliant documentation (e.g., Client Advice Record, FICA).
- Conduct annual portfolio reviews and maintain client relationships.
- Report strike rates to Regional Managers and reciprocate leads with stakeholders.
Manage Commission Earnings
- Ensure accurate Policy Relevant Information (PRI) capture for commission tracking.
- Verify monthly commission statements and reconcile PRI numbers.
- Maintain an up-to-date client database.
- Follow up on unpaid premiums or lapses and manage suspense accounts.
Practice Management
- Clarify roles and responsibilities for Adviser Assistants.
- Facilitate training on systems, products, and operations.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Conduct performance discussions and address underperformance.
- Maintain compliant record-keeping (FAIS, FICA, FSB).
- Coordinate with Provincial Operations for system and equipment support.
- Complete mandatory compliance training (Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, BCM).
- Submit monthly feedback on non-interest income and cross-selling opportunities.
- Segment clients for targeted engagement and business growth.
Personal Development
- Attend required training for Absa product accreditation.
- Complete FAIS-related programs to maintain competency.
- Achieve and sustain Fit and Proper status (integrity, financial solvency).
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced Diploma in Accounting, or National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
