Dispensary Manager – Clicks Group Careers
Purpose
The Dispensary Manager is responsible for the efficient and compliant operation of the dispensary by leading and directing the pharmacy team to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care. This role ensures service excellence, achievement of sales and compliance targets, and a sustainable competitive advantage for the brand.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure the provision of high standards of pharmaceutical care, including accurate and safe dispensing, generic substitution, and professional advice in line with SAPC regulations and good pharmacy practice

Manage and control all dispensary operations, including stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping, and administration in accordance with merchandising standards, legal requirements, and company policies

Maintain the financial viability of the dispensary through sound financial management, expense control, and achievement of core dispensary and clinic targets

Lead, develop, and motivate employees, including learners and interns, through effective recruitment, leadership, coaching, and ongoing development

Ensure optimal staff scheduling in line with labour policies and models, including accurate time, attendance, and employee record management

Drive customer service initiatives that enhance the customer experience, build loyalty, and achieve ClubCard participation targets

Ensure effective integration and collaboration with the clinic and healthcare aisle to deliver a comprehensive healthcare offering

Promote and live the company values while supporting the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first-choice health and beauty retailer

Foster alignment and collaboration between store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams
-
Build a high-performance culture that delivers employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value
Minimum Requirements
Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience post community service year
-
Minimum of 1 year people management experience
-
Registered as a Responsible Pharmacist with the SAPC
-
Retail pharmacy experience is advantageous
-
Experience with Unisolve is advantageous
Education
-
Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council
