Purpose of the Role:

  • Grow Sanlam Retail Mass’s customer base and revenue by developing and overseeing branch strategy execution.
  • Guide, integrate, and standardize Sales Consultants’ activities in alignment with business goals.
  • Foster a service-driven culture to enhance client experience within and outside the branch.
  • Oversee daily branch operations and maintenance.
  • Represent the retail branch in the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Business Planning:

  • Translate provincial strategy into a branch-specific plan with clear targets and objectives.
  • Contribute insights to monthly, quarterly, and annual business planning.
  • Manage operational costs within budget.
  • Develop and implement sales incentives for Branch Consultants.

Retail Branch Sales Delivery:
Activations:

  • Develop strategies (campaigns, promotions, events) to attract clients.
  • Represent Sanlam at community forums to drive awareness and business growth.

Sales and Operational Effectiveness:

  • Communicate branch strategy and targets to Sales Consultants, aligning on Key Result Areas.
  • Monitor sales performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and other functions to optimize branch operations.
  • Propose improvements for systems, processes, and technologies.

Service Culture:

  • Ensure efficient, client-centric processes in the branch.
  • Set and monitor service delivery standards.
  • Manage SLA adherence and resolve client complaints promptly.

Compliance, Quality, and Risk Management:

  • Ensure branch compliance with FSCA regulations and Sanlam standards.
  • Uphold the Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) framework.

People Management:

  • Partner with HR to recruit and develop high-performing teams.
  • Oversee talent management, performance reviews, and staff development.
  • Support accreditation and continuous professional growth for branch staff.

Monthly Planning and Reporting:

  • Analyze sales and service data to drive improvements.
  • Conduct monthly and annual performance planning.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in financial services, with 3+ in leadership.
  • Proven service and sales management experience.

Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • RE1 and RE5 certification.
  • 120 Wealth Management credits or FSCA-recognized tertiary qualification.
  • Class of Business accreditation (annual).
  • Compliant with Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
