Sanlam is seeking a motivated and results-driven Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor to join our team in Springs. In this role, you will promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products, increase market share, and provide clients with expert financial advice in a branch environment. You will help create opportunities for client optimization and the cross-selling of value-added products to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Delivery:
- Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of SRM product offerings to effectively meet customer needs.
- Client Needs Assessment: Understand customer financial goals and provide tailored product solutions that are affordable and meet their long-term objectives.
- Client Communication: Keep clients informed of new product offerings and any updates to existing products, ensuring their portfolios remain relevant.
- Due Diligence: Ensure all client details meet regulatory standards and submit new business through appropriate channels.
- Risk Management: Conduct assessments to flag any potential risks and manage the client’s portfolio accordingly.
- Appointment Management: Prioritize daily appointments while maximizing walk-in and non-appointment client opportunities.
In-Branch Client Service and Retention:
- Client Retention: Ensure all client profiles are maintained and serviced to promote long-term relationships.
- Follow-Ups & Support: Send reminders, conduct follow-ups, and assist clients with queries or support needs.
- Persistency & Payments: Ensure that client payments are managed effectively, benefiting both the branch and the client.
- Risk Profiling: Gain insight into clients’ risk profiles and provide necessary support or alternative payment options.
- Issue Resolution: Handle policy cancellations, client queries, and escalate complex issues using the branch’s escalation framework.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Development:
- Regulatory Adherence: Remain updated with compliance and quality standards, ensuring all activities are logged in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Ongoing Learning: Stay current with registration, product knowledge, and maintain CPD points.
- Risk Detection: Identify and flag any potentially fraudulent activities.
- Record Keeping: Ensure all advice records are properly stored, and contribute to reporting processes as required.
Planning and Reporting:
- Activity Reporting: Provide daily reports using relevant technology platforms.
- Weekly/Monthly Reporting: Collate and submit data to meet reporting deadlines and support branch performance.
- Ad-Hoc Tasks: Complete any other tasks as requested by the Retail Branch Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a sales or marketing role. Experience in insurance branches is an advantage.
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) is required.
- Certifications: RE5 certification is advantageous. FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) per DOFA requirements.
- Training: Class of Business training must be completed within 12 months of employment.
