Job Summary
As an AIFA Adviser in Everyday Banking (FAIS), you will follow the six steps of financial planning to deliver expert advice. You will introduce yourself professionally to clients, outline the services offered, and conduct Financial Needs Analyses (FNA) across Investment, Life Insurance, and Estate Planning. Based on the FNA, you will make tailored recommendations using Absa-approved products. You will ensure client-approved advice is implemented through Absa’s new business processes and conduct regular reviews to assess the continued suitability of solutions. Maintaining Fit and Proper compliance is essential to uphold the integrity of the advice provided.
Key Accountabilities
Client Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, bank personnel, product providers, and adviser support staff.
- Participate in leads activities and sales meetings to identify new or repeat business opportunities.
- Conduct Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) using Absa’s recommended tools, ensuring clients understand the value of AIFA.
- Prepare and present risk and investment solutions in line with FAIS regulations.
- Network with internal stakeholders (PGMs, Regional Managers) to position Absa Advisers’ value proposition.
Sales & Business Growth
- Plan client outreach activities and leverage leads from various sources.
- Use Absa’s Financial Needs Analysis tool (Avalon) to assess client needs comprehensively.
- Generate tailored product quotes and secure client acceptance for implementation.
- Complete compliance documentation (e.g., Client Advice Record, FICA) accurately.
- Submit proposals to product providers and verify issued policies align with recommendations.
- Review client portfolios annually and maintain engagement based on agreed contact strategies.
Commission & Financial Management
- Capture accurate Policy Relevant Information (PRI) for commission tracking.
- Reconcile commission statements monthly and manage suspense accounts promptly.
- Follow up on unpaid premiums and policy lapses with clients.
Practice Management & Compliance
- Ensure staff (e.g., Adviser Assistants) understand their roles and receive necessary training.
- Provide coaching and participate in performance development discussions.
- Maintain compliant record-keeping (FAIS, FICA, FSB).
- Complete mandatory compliance training (e.g., AML, Sanctions, BCM).
- Uphold Fit and Proper status through continuous professional development.
Personal Development
- Attend product accreditation and FAIS-related training.
- Earn required FAIS credits and maintain compliance with honesty, integrity, and financial solvency standards.
