Yacht Captain – 38m Motor Yacht – Middle East, Qatar
Deka Minas is seeking a highly skilled and professional Yacht Captain to take command of a 38-meter private motor yacht based in Qatar. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of safety, navigation, and guest service while leading a skilled crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume full command of the 38m yacht, overseeing safe navigation, operations, and maintenance.
- Manage yacht administration, including budgeting, provisioning, and compliance with maritime regulations.
- Lead, train, and supervise the crew to maintain seamless onboard operations.
- Maintain clear communication with owners, guests, and management to meet expectations.
- Oversee yacht upkeep, repairs, and maintenance, coordinating with engineers and shipyards as needed.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, conducting drills and inspections per international maritime laws.
- Plan itineraries and provide detailed briefings on destinations, weather, and logistics.
- Monitor fuel, water, and supply levels to ensure operational readiness.
- Deliver a luxury guest experience while maintaining utmost discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Valid Master 500GT or higher (MCA) certification.
- Updated STCW 95/10 and ENG1 medical certificate.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Captain on yachts 30m–45m.
- Proven background in private/charter operations.
- Strong navigational, technical, and seamanship expertise.
- Working knowledge of ISM/ISPS codes and maritime regulations.
