Job Summary

The Artisan Assistant provides operational support to the Instrumentation Department by assisting Mechanicians with maintenance, installation, and basic fault-finding activities to improve plant reliability and availability. The role also supports the Instrumentation Foreperson with administrative duties, including updating Quality and SHE files, while promoting safe and efficient work practices.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role

Key Responsibilities

• Transport and handle instrumentation tools and equipment, including loading and offloading at various work sites
• Perform general cleaning, lubrication, and upkeep of tools, instruments, panels, and stored equipment
• Remove scrap and waste from work areas and dispose of it in designated bins
• Clean and maintain departmental vehicles to ensure readiness and compliance
• Assist Artisans with cable-related tasks such as tracing, pulling, trenching, and recovering unused or damaged cables for CCTV installation and maintenance
• Provide general assistance by identifying tools, handling testing equipment, and supporting installation and maintenance activities

Knowledge Requirements

• Basic knowledge of instrumentation systems
• Understanding of automation equipment maintenance

• Strong housekeeping and workplace organisation abilities
