Employee Relations Specialist – Truworths Careers
Job Description
Truworths is seeking a dedicated Employee Relations Specialist to join our Employee Relations team. This role focuses on ensuring fair and respectful treatment of employees in line with legislation, company policies, and organisational values. The position requires hands-on experience in employee and labour relations, supporting management across a broad spectrum of employment-related matters.
Key Responsibilities

Investigate employee relations matters, prepare detailed investigation reports, and recommend remedial actions

Support Line Management with performance management and misconduct cases, providing guidance and advice on employment-related issues

Assist in the preparation of disciplinary hearings and support Chairpersons with letters of findings and sanctions

Prepare and advise Line Managers on CCMA cases

Provide guidance on Department of Employment and Labour inspections, including compliance with BCEA, OHSA, and related legislation

Contribute to the development and updating of IR policies, guidelines, and procedures

Collaborate on employee relations projects and initiatives

Manage the anonymous whistleblower process in accordance with relevant legislation

Prepare and present weekly, quarterly, and annual reports on ER statistics and trends
Qualifications and Experience

Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Relations

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an IR Specialist or HR Generalist with IR exposure
-
Previous experience in the retail or service sector is advantageous
