Stock In Transit & Returns Specialist – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Job
The Stock In Transit & Returns Specialist at Value Logistics ensures seamless stock movement between facilities, accurate tracking of goods in transit, and efficient handling of returns and collections. This role focuses on maintaining supply chain integrity, resolving issues promptly, and enhancing customer satisfaction through clear communication and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Operational

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer queries regarding logistics, deliveries, and returns.
  • Proactively follow up on delivery schedules, ETAs, PODs, misrouted parcels, missing shipments, and incorrect details, ensuring timely responses.
  • Compile and send daily reports on Value & Customer Failures to the customer.
  • Resolve logistics-related delivery issues, including returns and re-deliveries.
  • Extract, update, and distribute the Warehouse Order Tracking/WIP report daily, addressing any exceptions.
  • Monitor orders via the Freight Management Detail report for assigned warehouse customers.
  • Ensure timely order dispatch by coordinating with Logistics & Express branches.
  • Adjust delivery dates for delayed orders based on agreed customer terms and logistical constraints.
  • Communicate cancelled orders and collections to the warehouse team without delay.
  • Address customer complaints professionally, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Manage same-day and priority deliveries, keeping customers updated throughout the process.
  • Submit the daily priority list to the Customer Service Supervisor by 4:00 pm.
  • Track overdue status codes, following up with relevant Warehouse & Logistics teams until POD confirmation.
  • Log internal and external queries on the Customer Service Query Logging system daily.
  • Assist other customer accounts or service functions as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Relevant diploma or certificate in logistics, supply chain, or customer service (preferred).
  • 2–3 years of experience in customer service or logistics support.
  • Prior logistics/supply chain industry experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
