Job Summary
As an AIFA (Absa Investment and Financial Adviser), you will execute the six steps of financial planning under the FAIS license. Your role includes introducing clients to AIFA services, conducting Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) in Investment, Life Insurance, and Estate Planning, and providing tailored recommendations based on client needs. You will implement solutions using Absa-approved products, conduct regular reviews, and ensure ongoing compliance with Fit and Proper requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, bank personnel, product providers, and adviser support staff.
- Conduct FNAs using Absa’s tools to identify client needs and present the AIFA value proposition.
- Prepare and present risk and investment recommendations in line with FAIS regulations.
- Network with Everyday Banking teams to drive business growth and reciprocate leads.
Sales & Business Growth
- Meet sales targets by proactively identifying and contacting clients through leads and prospecting.
- Use Absa’s Financial Needs Analysis tool (Avalon from Aug 2024) for comprehensive client assessments.
- Generate formal recommendations, complete applications, and ensure policy alignment with client needs.
- Conduct annual portfolio reviews and provide feedback to Regional Managers on lead conversion.
Commission & Compliance Management
- Accurately capture Policy Relevant Information (PRI) and verify commission statements monthly.
- Manage client databases, follow up on unpaid premiums, and clear suspense accounts.
- Ensure compliant record-keeping per FAIS, FICA, and regulatory standards.
Practice & Personal Development
- Train and mentor adviser assistants to enhance their skills and performance.
- Complete mandatory compliance exams (Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, BCM, etc.).
- Maintain Fit and Proper status through continuous professional development.
- Attend required FAIS and product accreditation training.
