Role Purpose
The Investment Development Consultant builds and maintains strategic partnerships with independent financial advisers (IFAs) to promote Momentum’s investment solutions. By driving sales growth and expanding Momentum’s footprint, you will help IFAs grow their businesses while achieving MDS sales targets.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3-year BCom degree in Business Management or Investments (essential).
- Honours degree (advantageous).
- CFA and/or CFP certification (advantageous).
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years in the financial services industry, with investment experience (essential).
- Prior experience with Momentum Investments (advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of SA and international investment markets, including Fund Selection, DFM, and Securities.
- Proven client or IFA engagement in a practice management setting (advantageous).
- Tech-savvy with a digital-first mindset.
Duties & Responsibilities
Connection and Engagement:
- Build structured, professional relationships with targeted IFAs.
- Resolve partnership barriers and provide timely feedback.
- Understand competitor landscapes, IFA needs, and organize engagement initiatives.
- Represent Momentum with confidence and passion.
- Develop retention strategies to solidify IFA partnerships.
Enthuse through Brand, SME Service & Digital:
- Foster lasting relationships via brand positioning, service excellence, and digital engagement.
- Promote Momentum’s expertise to reinforce market presence.
- Elevate IFAs from passive supporters to active ambassadors.
- Guide IFAs on best practices for collaboration.
Influence through Coaching and Learning:
- Position Momentum as a thought leader through insights and expertise.
- Conduct 1:1 coaching and regular engagements with IFAs.
- Stay informed on regulatory impacts affecting IFA practices.
- Uphold accountability, innovation, and ethical business conduct.
Enable through Partnership:
- Strengthen Momentum’s reputation as a trusted knowledge partner.
- Leverage financial planning expertise to drive IFA growth.
- Assess strengths, risks, and opportunities for the supported panel.
